Diablo Cody

I love Diablo Cody. Everyone has an opinion on Juno- considering the whole teen pregnancy thing. I’ve heard everything from how implausible it is for a teenager in Juno’s situation to be that smart (because Midwestern public school girls are incapable of being intelligent and interested in classic rock? Kay) to how Juno generally portrayed teenage girls negatively, and how we deserve a story about our successes not the “failure” of pregnancy.

I have my opinions, and because I actually am a teenage girl, they’re different. Mostly I’m just able to enjoy that movie for its amazing humor and not over-analyze it. It doesn’t make me want to go out and have a baby nor does it make me feel oppressed. I was happy to see a movie about a …

Top 10 Reasons Why High School Pisses Me Off

1. Girls Who Think Every Guy Is In Love With Her
I hate the girls who think that all the guys are after them because they’re just SO hot…NO it’s because you make it clear you’re open for business. If you’re easy guys don’t give a shit if you’re gorgeous, you just have to NOT be repulsive.

2. Teachers who make me feel like shit in class.
If I don’t know the answer it’s not because I’m a moron, and if I’m not listening it’s because I was up late trying to finish your stupid assignment. Plus, if some teacher randomly calls on me I immediately forget the answer even if I knew it. I have this old British teacher who does this and he scares the crap out of …

Facebook

facebook

Whenever I’m bored, I click on the new photos in my mini-feed on Facebook. A classic pose, first mastered by most as early as seventh grade, is fish face (head tilted, lips pursed, eyes wide). It’s a standard but I don’t really understand it. I guess that it’s to “accentuate the cheekbones.” Whatever.

I even find Model posing pretty amusing. I mean those poor girls probably spent a really long time finding the right angle on their back porch…in a bikini…trying to flip their hair just so it’s sexy enough but not covering their eyes. Although whenever I look at those pictures that obviously weren’t taken by that person on photo booth…I sort of just wonder about the person who took them. Awkward.

While previous generations had the hairbrush-lip-synching-bathroom-mirror experience, …

He Was Actually Our President…

The best of George W. Bush

george-w-bush

“I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.”

“You work three jobs?…Uniquely American, isn’t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you’re doing that.” – to a divorced mother of three

“They misunderestimated me.”

“Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?”

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

(To a Tennessee audience) “There’s an old saying in Tennessee-I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee-that says, fool me once, shame on-shame on you. Fool me-you can’t get fooled again.”

Oldies But Goodies

These are some of my favorite idiotic celebrity quotes of all time. They’re not recent but every time I read them I feel better about myself. Enjoy.

“I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada.” – Britney Spears

Sadly, because it’s Britney Spears, this doesn’t surprise me at all.

“I’ve never really wanted to go to Japan simply because I don’t like eating fish. And I know that’s very popular out there in Africa.” – Britney Spears

What is it with Britney and geography? Don’t tell me the Disney Corporation denied those mouseketeers that dandy on-set tutoring…

“It’s nice, it gives you a feeling of security so that if something breaks we know we can always call a guy over and he’ll bring a drill or something.”-Brooke …

Teeny-Boppers

In the last year I think I’ve started to find myself as a person, as cheesy as that sounds, and my taste in music has changed a lot, it’s gotten a lot better! I used to just listen to all the teeny-bopper stuff on the radio and like worship Kiss FM (not one of my proudest phases). I guess I started to shift away from that near the end of eighth grade, which was like a year and a half ago, when my friend showed me the band Cute Is What We Aim For. I think I pretty much fell in love with them the first time I heard the song “Finger Twist and Split”, that song is amazing. That basically is what got me into the kind of …

Love Twilight?

I do. There’s a lot of shit in there I don’t agree with- for one Bella is probably the stupidest protagonist ever, and of course, that her one goal in life is to give her soul to a guy, sacrificing education and career fulfillment along the way along with a ton of other stuff is disgusting…but then again Edward is dreamy. I wish some guy were that devoted to me. He would bring me food whenever I wanted…anyway
