As awesome as it is that she said that, if she had added something about how that is a feminist statement, it would have cemented my undying love for her. Alas…at least we got that, right?

But isn’t the very existence of people like Megan Fox, marginally talented and almost created from scratch on a surgeon’s table, the very opposite of feminism? When your whole career is based on pouting lips and showing off your ass, isn’t that the worse thing a woman can do to make things worse for all other women in the world? This is why i can’t stand her. She makes everything about sex because that is all she has to sell, and that is just lame to me.

@Linia: Would you have made that same comment if she had said “beautiful” instead of “intelligent?” Megan didn’t claim to be brilliant; she merely said that she wanted to be the kind of role model that would inspire girls to be confident in their own intelligence. Why is that any different than inspiring girls to be confident about the way they look?
@Nina: She uses what she has to get what she wants – she knows that she is being objectified, and she controls it, rather than let it control her. I don’t see how that “makes things worse for all other women in the world” except perhaps by raising the standards of female beauty.

i agree. she stated that she’s “always in the mood.. constantly” what woman is ALWAYS in the mood for sex? she knows shes a sex symbol and that 90% of the female population would give anything to look like her.. and saying that shes always into sex & talking sexual will make 100% of the male population want her.. sure she can spew off advice but really? she had to pay HUGE to get her look.. and pretends to be some sexual diviant.. ladies.. sex doesnt make u strong.. neither does looking hot. sluts use those things to be “strong” i think its rediculous. i love her acting and who she WAS.. but now? w/e she says is constantly disrespectful and for the most part hypocritical. sure what she stated here is true.. but it isnt coming from her. fair?

I agree with kiki and nina..In no way is Megan Fox strong or intelligent…definitely not a good role model.she is not an exceptional actress and neither has she contributed in any way to any significant causes.Opinionated, confident and sexually aware?yes. but that doesnt change the fact that she is simply a sex object….a much more trashy Marilyn Monroe!!and the statement she made is not in any way true or heartfelt,she should stick to looking stoned and saying bland statements instead of reading prepared statements.feminine strength is evident,not forced.hint:Angelina Jolie,i can’t stand her but i RESPECT her.

Calling another girl a slut is about the most anti-feminist thing you can do. Like her or not… Personally I don’t care one way or another, I don’t really know who she is… But please Kiki, judging another girl and calling her a slut because she has different values than you does not help women in the least.

I think living your life the way you see fit regardless if it doesn’t infringe on the beliefs of another, whether or not it fits into a societal norm, is about as pro-woman as you can get…as much as the pro-lifers and seemingly sex-crazed females of the world (I’m not talking sexual liberation, I’m talking forcing yourself to make out with the girl at the bar in a desperate bid for male attention type sex crazed) tend to make me roll my eyes, whether or not it fits the traditional (and VARIED) definition of what feminism is, we have to recognize that even the ladies who don’t subscribe to our belief system have the right to practice what they think is right…feminism is allowing women to take control of their own lives, which means the freedom to make dumb, bad, or harmful choices. I’m not saying it’s right or I agree when some woman makes a distinctly anti-feminist statement, but isn’t feminism at it’s roots about ladies choosing for themselves what to embrace…it would be hypocritical of us to deny the idiots of the world their brainwashed ideology if that’s what’s making them happy or comfortable as long as they’re not demanding others subscribe to their system of beliefs. Megan Fox taking out her hooters doesn’t change the way mine look or how awesome they are. The blatant objectification of women in the media is disgusting but the censorship of stupid celebrity antics and philosophies engenders the same atmosphere of morally driven censorship as the crazy right wing assholes who’d like to see all ladies in the kitchen with a pie in their hands and afterbirth around their ankles. The idea isn’t to tear them down…it’s to build us up! A woman with her tits out and her legs open is just as much a woman as the aforementioned pie holding afterbirth lady. If that’s your gig, rock it. Just don’t stomp on my dandelion patch.

Megan fox is the sex and ugly women try to pretend that feminism is about being ugly because they never fit in anywhere else. dont hate on her because she’s hot. I’d totally do her.

I think people put way to much pressure on celebrities. I would get pissed and cuss the world out too if i had people on my as 24/7. So Megan Fox isn’t perfect… WOW! shes just human! get over it. If anyone else was doing and saying any of that you people wouldn’t care.

Megan is at least a different type of pretty val-girl. Let me ask you something, aren’t there already enough of that kinds of chicks? I mean, she is just as shallow, perhaps, i don’t know, BUT, she SEEMS to have an attitude, to be in control. That makes her stand out, even a little bit, which will inevitably provoke the criticism of everyone, specially aimed at her, since she at least looks like an outcast.
