And then to the dismissal because she’s society’s norm of beautiful. How anti-feminist is that? I mean, you’re not dismissing her because she’s “ugly,” but you’re still dismissing her simply because of her looks. You turn her into an object in your own mind because she’s a celebrity, and with celebrities it’s somehow okay to reduce them simply to the comments they make and the work they do. It’s okay to objectify them because you assume they’ve already objectified themselves, which apparently makes them less worthy of human compassion. Megan Fox gets slut shaming comments, bad role model accusations, gets called fake and stupid and untalented. By a bunch of people who have never met her and who have dismissed her already because she’s “pretty.” And the amount of people doing this who call themselves feminists never ceases to amaze and disgust me.

Let me ask you this: when has a male celebrity ever been criticized for the way his actions influence young boys? No, think really hard. When Zefron spends a few hundred dollars at a strip club, people chuckle and say, “Oh, that Zefron!” and do the whole “boys will be boys” thing. So, is Megan Fox expected to toe the right-wing morality line just because she’s a woman? Or do people just think that while teen boys are capable of examining the messages sent to them in the media, teen girls are airheads who will lap anything and everything up as gospel?

I’m so sick of this crap. You don’t have to like her or think she’s pretty or think she’s talented, but stop the slut-shaming, at the very least. Maybe she DOES want sex all the time. She’s 24. As a 21-year-old, I can honestly say that I can completely see where she’s, er, coming from. Does that make me a big ole hoe? Um, no, that makes me human and young and full of hormones and desires. There’s nothing wrong with that, male or female. If men are supposed to want sex all the time (and much to my disappointment, they actually DON’T), what’s wrong with a woman wanting it?
