Women MDs will soon outnumber men as well. I thought the hungry baby doll was cute, given that really girls don't have developed, or even sorta developed, breasts soo how would they know where the baby goes? Little girls are to young to be deciding if they want a baby or not, but it is an option for most of them, just like deciding to be a zoologist, doctor, chef, astronaut, or SeaWorld Trainer. Don't knock exotic dancers either, a friend of mine makes really good money working part time doing it. If I wasn't worried about my mum crucifying me with my super high heels or strangling me with a G-string if/when she found out, I'd try it out for the novelty factor. Some of those girls bad arse quotient is off the charts, they abuse the clientèle...and get paid for it! Except that breast feeding is natural. I think the fact that breasts are so sexualized is whats making that seem creepy. There are so many dolls that have bottles and encourage formula feeding. I really see formula feeding as very anti-feminist, so much of it depends on making women feel like they are inferior to what male scientist can create and male doctors can sell. I've never actually bought my daughter a doll, but somehow she has ended up with three baby dolls. She nurses them, she would love a doll that makes nursing sounds. I don't actually think there is anything wrong with encouraging girls to be mothers or nurturing to children if they naturally are drawn to that. I think the problem is that male children are often told to push their nurturing instincts aside. I just follow what my daughter is interested in. Sometimes it is playing with dolls, other times it is playing with Legos, sometimes she likes playing in her toy kitchen.
