For Your Viewing Pleasure

When I should be doing homework, I browse the web for videos. And then I share them with you. Here we go.

“Chris Brown: The Interview” airs this Friday at 6 pm on MTV. Should be interesting (by which I mean upsetting and angering) to hear some more of his lame ass excuses. To think that teenage girls were actually blaming Rihanna for that whole incident makes me seriously sick. I’ve talked about the Chris Brown / Rihanna dating abuse before, when the reports first came out…at the very least this interview will give us some more details.

Although I do plan to get out all my anger by throwing things at the TV whilst I watch this, and perpetuate the angry feminist stereotype. Alas, I’m sure it will be cathartic.

Ahh and then there’s “Show me your genitals”

A perfect opportunity to talk about the “feminists can’t take a joke” issue. While I do actually think this is meant to be a joke (although the fellow on Tool Academy would probably argue this is quite accurate) I worry. Out of the almost 20.9 million views, I wonder how many people think this is a joke and how many people actually enjoy the message. I’d like to give everybody a little more credit than that out there…but, yeah, I don’t know. I’m really interested in what you think, FBombers (as always.)

And just because I love Chris Colfer and I miss Glee a whole damn lot (stupid MLB on Fox) – an interview with Kurt! (And if you don’t watch Glee…start. now.)

That is all. Happy Thursday!

Damn these video distribution laws – I can’t watch them in the UK :(

Or, it could just be my *stupid* computer.

But really… did people actually blame Rihanna? Seriously?

“Turn this into a positive” … he actually said that. You can regret it, yeah, but some stuff will never be positive, no matter how much it shapes you in the future. And the way he’s saying it, it sounds like he’s trying to spin it into marketing. I’m really hoping that was just my misinterpritation.

I mean, I’ve got no problem with that second video. It made me giggle… and yeah, sure some people might take it the wrong way, but they’d be in the extreme, extreme minority. If we condemned anything that crazy misogynists could take the wrong way… well, we’d condemn a LOT, it wouldn’t work all that well, and it wouldn’t help our reputation at all. I don’t see how a video that illuminates misogyny will be interpreted as misogyny, except by the profoundly stupid few.
