“If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t get one, the consensus seems to be. If you decide that abortion is the best option for you, then make that decision.”

Do your friends who are “pro-life” really believe that women should be able to have the right to choose to have an abortion? Because if they do, then they aren’t pro-life, they’re pro-choice.

The terminology should be changed to from “pro-life” to “anti-choice.” Pro-lifers want to remove the option of abortion, and therefore should have a moniker that reflects their mission.

I identify as pro-choice, yet am not sure I would ever choose to have an abortion. I guess my view point technically makes me “pro-life” but it certainly doesn’t makes me “anti-choice.”

By changing our usage of terminology the entire issue of abortion could be clarified and made a more savory argument for a wider spread of the population.

You need to do a lot more research on the Health Care bill. Universal Health Care won’t make Health Care cheaper for you. It just makes it free for people who don’t pay their taxes. And before someone spouts rhetoric, it’s a simple argument. Universal means across the board. Those who can pay will have to pay for it. The government relies on taxes (or multinational loans) to pay for everything it does. Healthcare will be payed for by us. So you will be paying for yourself and at least one other person you don’t know. Which means your taxes will go up significantly.

Furthermore STUPAK is nothing compared to them trying to get women to avoid screenings for cancer until after they’re 50. It’s called rationing Health Care.

disturbing… I really don’t understand why abortion is even an issue to thisday. US is built on the principle of choice and abortion definitely falls under that. Supporting pro-choice does not mean that us pro-choice-ers want fetuses to die –it merely means that we want women to be able to make their own decisions for their own security and health. And don’t even get me started on the whole “state’s right” argument… All humans have basic right to choice and right to abortion should not vary depending on where you live.

Oh, Rachel Maddow is freaking brilliant. I can only catch rare snatches of her program, but I look forward to them hugely.

Also, yeah – Stupak is NOT a good idea, or even a logical one. Seriously, you guys need to adopt socialized healthcare, and FAST.

Good Lord. 1st George Tiller, someone said to be a lovely man and a compassionate doctor, was killed.
2nd my mom, me, and my brother were in a accident that really (I am not exaggerating) could have killed us
Now Stupak (Stupid?) is making it hard for sistas!!! This brings me back to when I was a naive high school student attending catechism, where I and a few other girls were being convinced that if a boy wants to have sex with us that he’s abusing us, Women’s Lib caused date rape, the pill could kill us, and that homosexuals live an unhappy lifestyle. Then I grew up and started community college, where I discovered I’m a closet bisexual (love girls a lot!!), that I am a liberal libertarian, a feminist, and that I realize it’s preposterous to force girls to go on with a pregnancy if they live in an unsafe environment especially.
What I’m saying is that, none of us have no right to judge who gets what, because of what we believe in. We know nothing about that person, I quote Mo’Nique on the Ellen show.
I hope all you kids’ high school years will go better than mine and that ya’ll know who you are so no one will convince you of some b.s.
