Saturday Vids: Modern Lady on Bridalplasty
As soon as I heard about the new reality show “Bridalplasty” on E!, I knew I had to share its absurdity with other rational beings. On this show, engaged women compete in various wedding-themed challeges for two prizes. And what might they be? A free wedding and extreme plastic surgery. Able to phrase my disgust in a much more comical fashion is Erin Gibson in a segment of infomania’s Modern Lady, in which she dissects the issue.

Ugh that show disgusts me.
When are we going to start teaching women to value themselves and love themselves for who they are instead of telling them to change every single thing about themselves?

This show makes me sick to my stomach. The amount of marker lines he drew on that woman in the pink bikini- what? Why would you get rid of all the curves and wobbly bits that make a woman… well, a woman?
And after the marker, those other three or four women who don’t win will learn to hate everything that doctor’s pointed out.
Since when has beauty become so shallow?

I kind of hope this show’s a satirical take on how much women hate themselves and how wrong it is to hate yourself. It’s almost laughable when the hostess says, “Your wedding will go on. It just won’t be perfect.”

Ugh. Not only does this show sound completely and utterly ridiculous, it also fuels the idea that ‘only pretty, married girls will succeed’. Disgusting.

Great article! I hope with all my heart that this show is canceled due to low ratings. If not, it may be another example of how insane stuff can become the new normal.
