Support Women Artists Sunday: Meiko

Meiko, born and raised in Roberta, Georgia (population: 808), has the classic story of a girl with talent from a small town. She honed her skills by singing at church, little league baseball parks and her home. She moved to L.A. at 18 where her career took off. She self-released her first album, Meiko, in 2007, which was ranked #28 on the Billboard charts. The same album was later re-released with a record company and then made it to #14.

Perfect example of a girl with little means making her own success. I like it.
