Fur is a feminist issue.
Kim Kardashian calls herself a feminist. She casually disclosed this piece of information to Rolling Stone magazine in July 2015, which caused a stir among her critics. There are plenty of reasons to question whether or not Kardashian is a feminist, and many have debated them. But the under-discussed point that bothers me most is that she is an avid wearer of fur.

The Feminist Case for Veganism
Veganism is feminist.
As someone who has been involved in feminist activism for years, I’ve observed that animal oppression is often a polarizing subject between vegan and non-vegan feminists. But it doesn’t have to be. Veganism can and should also be viewed as a complex issue that is part of a much broader cultural standard of objectifying and dehumanizing certain bodies under the patriarchy.
The hostility along vegan lines in the feminist movement seems to happen for a few reasons. For one, feminists are busy trying to attain rights for themselves and some are put off by their interpretation of animal rights activists as having a pretty hostile, single-issue approach to their work. Veganism, Dieting and Why I Felt Like I Had to Change
My sophomore year of high school, thinking I’d be healthier, skinnier, and for humane reasons, my parents coerced me into becoming vegan. I hardly ate – because of my dislike of beans and other vegan staple foods, I had basically the same food for every meal – and despite constantly exercising, my metabolism slowed and I gained twenty pounds over a five month period. Both of my parents’ cholesterol dropped by one hundred points and they were losing weight, so why wasn’t I? My doctor told me I was still growing, not getting necessary nutrients, and eating too little, therefore I had to return to eating meat and oil (which we were also avoiding).
